Recognized Student Organizations

USC has more than 1,000 student organizations, which are responsible for the majority of programs and events held on campus, including concerts, lectures, special events, spirit rallies, cultural and social events, and conferences.

University recognition is required on annual basis to maintain the status of a university Recognized Student Organization (RSO).

For 2024-2025 Academic Year, ALL recognized student organizations must apply for recognition on an annual basis. NOTE: All previously recognized RSOs’ recognition ended on June 30, 2024. Approved applications will have official RSO recognition for one academic year (between August 1-June 30). Please visit the following pages to learn more about the RSO process and resources.

Spring 2025 Recognition Process General Information 

  • The Spring 2025 application opens on October 23 and closes on November 20 at 11:59pm 
  • New and re-activating groups are eligible to apply during this time.  
  • The following items are required components of a complete application: 
  • Current membership profile, including five required officers (President, Vice President, Secretary/Historian, Treasurer, and Programming Chair), a full-time faculty or staff advisor, and five additional members.  
  • Constitution and bylaws, consistent with university policies and regulations, ratified by the membership. 2024-25 Constitution Template
  • Completion of annual recognition training by five officers of the RSO: Hazing Prevention certificate, RSO Officer Training Learning Path corresponding to each officer’s role, and a signed Commitment to Community Form. 
  • Any plans to engage in certain activities, including those involving minors, use of hazardous materials, international travel, healthcare activities, and other activities as identified by Campus Activities from time to time. Organizations planning to conduct these activities may need to complete additional registration requirements before engaging in such activities.

RSO Recognition Process and Resources
