Resources for External Organizations
The Volunteer Center works to match students with local nonprofit community partners. If you have a need and a volunteer project, the Volunteer Center can connect you with volunteers to meet your goals in two different ways listed below.
If you have a great idea for an engaging project that a group of USC students can work on together, then hosting a Friends and Neighbors Day (FND) service project may work well for you! Friends and Neighbors Days (of service) happen several times throughout the semester on a Saturday morning. Hundreds of USC students sign up for service projects occurring throughout our local community. USC provides the volunteers and you provide the group project, the necessary context, and training. Reliable FND community partners get featured/listed on our socials or newsletter!
During the Academic Year our Friends and Neighbors Days will take place on:
Date | Year |
---|---|
August 19 | 2023 |
September 16 | 2023 |
October 14 | 2023 |
November 11 | 2023 |
January 27 | 2024 |
February 24 | 2024 |

Share Your Volunteer Opportunity
If you have a service opportunity that does not match with our Friends and Neighbors Day needs/schedule, or you need to work with the same volunteers over a long period of time, then you can submit a request to send out a call for volunteers on our volunteer newsletter or social site. If you would like to submit a call for volunteers please email a 50-word summary, including contact information to ServeOn@usc.edu. For-profit events, non-USC fee-based programs, or requests not related to service will not be considered. There are also some discipline-based service learning programs that may connect you with USC students for one or two semesters.
